Cloud Storage - An alternative to USBs

Audience

Students & Staff

Description

Recently may USB flash drives have been taken over by viruses and have lost all data. USBs are also easy to lose and may get corrupted. Cloud Storage can solve the many problems that USBs have. The only problem with Cloud Storage is that it is online.

Training

Based on the research by Ms. Perez, the two best for cloud storage are
  • Edmodo - Unlimited
  • Google Drive - 15GB (Quota)
For Edmodo, teachers need a school code. Students go to room 206 for access.

Google Drive requires a Gmail account.
LJISD Google Apps offers unlimited storage that requires training (LJSID Google Academy) for staff. Students, you will need to come to room 206 for access. Also, on personal accounts, you can save unlimited photos and videos on Google Photos (part of Google Drive) at "high quality". Above high quality counts against your quota. Using Google Docs, Slides, Sheets instead of Microsoft Office files doesn't count against your quota.
